Quality guarantee

Environmental management system

Beside maintaining its commitment to high quality service and seamless compliance with the security requirements, Pro-M Zrt., subsidiary of the Business Services Business Unit of the Magyar Telekom Group, is dedicated to environment focus in its activities. In this spirit in early 2009 the company introduced the ISO 14001:2004 standard environmental management system. The ISO standard enables Pro-M to carry out its activities in an environment-focused manner in compliance with a set of international standards.

The system was audited in two steps, on April 6 and between April 27-30, 2009. The auditors established that the management system complies with all requirements of the relevant system standard.  The company successfully implemented the management system, which promotes the realization of the objectives of the policy of the organization.

Upgraded quality management system

The same period saw the surveillance audit of two other certified management systems.  In the review of the ISO 9001:2000 quality management system the upgraded standard of the system was also checked for compliance with the relevant requirements.  As a result of the successful audit the quality management system of Pro-M Zrt. carries the latest ISO 9001:2008 (MSZ ISO 9001:2009) certificate, which certification enhances compliance with the ISO 14001 standard.

Guaranteed information security

The surveillance audit of the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 information security system was also successful.  This audit confirmed that the company continues to attach high importance to the maintenance and development of information security in compliance with the expectations of the emergency service users and the strict regulations.

As a result of the tasks implemented and continuous development Pro-M now has in place an integrated management system which complies with the international expectations on the quality and environmental information security management systems and with Magyar Telekom’s group-level integrated management system.

Possibility to broaden EDR network user base

The amendment of Government Decree 109/2007 that entered into force in 2008 opens the possibility for the emergency services also to use the EDR network with the permission of the owner.  Utilization of the currently unused capacity of the network (at present the emergency services use the service actively with 37 000 terminals, whereas in default case the network could service 42 000 terminals and with minimum development up to  60 000 radio terminals) would greatly reduce the operating costs, as the ’civils’ would buy the capacity in the form of services.
